Yes, this is the special two-hour documentary by Madblood director Rachel C. Hunter. Cast members Jerry Harrell, Mike Arlo, Penny Palen, Craig T. Adams and Carter Perry narrate and tell stories about the local institution that is the Doctor Madblood show. Covering the entire thirty-year history of the doctor's exploits in Pungo and beyond was a daunting undertaking, but the result is a program as unique and entertaining as Doctor Madblood himself. There are interviews with crew members and longtime viewers and, of course, choice clips from past and present episodes, some of which have not seen the light of day since they first aired.

Places

Certainly the most famous place in Pungo is Madblood Manor where the good doctor can be found conjuring up his next adventure. Not far from the gurgling reaches of the Great Dismal Swamp somewhere within the deep recesses of Virginia Beach's lost lagoons sits this turn-of-the-century tribute to paradise lost, now with its stately facade from another place in time crumbling from the nearby swamp's murky, bubbling presence. This is a place where noisy scientific experiments and glass-shattering explosions from inside the house are usually followed with maniacal laughter. Who knows what's hiding in the bushes outside.

This is a library of those "things," and their connection to why they exist on the set of Madblood Manor. Their origins can not only be traced to the twisted minds of the Madblood crew, but to his faithful viewers and fans----all of whom are obviously in creative sync with Madblood.

In the beginning, there were two characters: Doctor Maximillian Madblood, a mad scientist from Vienna who had retired and moved to the wilds of Princess Anne County, Virginia, and his mute lab assistant, named Wally, (pronounced by the doctor as "Volly.") They lived in a rundown old manor house that sat perched on the edge of the Pungo Swamp...
